Registration open for 20th Annual LAWS Golf Tournament

Community members are invited to tee off in support of the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society during the 20th Annual LAWS Golf Tournament on Sunday, September 20 at Katchiwano Golf Club. Sign-in begins at 12:00 p.m., with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
The tournament welcomes men's, women's and mixed teams and will be played in an 18-hole scramble format. The cost to participate is $175 per person. Registration includes golf, a cart, a drink ticket, and dinner. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a silent auction, raffle and prize presentations during the evening.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit LAWS and help support its work caring for cats and dogs in the community.

The annual tournament has become a long-standing community tradition, bringing together supporters, local businesses and golfers to help fund the organization's work caring for animals in need. Proceeds from the event help provide medical treatment, nutritious food, enrichment, training and daily care for dogs and cats while they await adoption.
The Lakefield Animal Welfare Society accepts adoptable animals from a variety of situations, including strays, owner surrenders, shelter transfers and other rescue organizations. The organization's mission is to help animals find permanent, loving homes while also promoting responsible pet ownership, disease prevention and population control through initiatives such as spay and neuter programs, foster care, community education, and assistance with animal rehabilitation.
LAWS also works with foster families to help rehabilitate and socialize animals before adoption and provides support to community members who are assisting animals in need. The organization says it is committed to developing a plan for every animal in its care, including those that may be more difficult to place.
Registration for the tournament is open until Tuesday, August 25 at 4:00 p.m. Those interested can register through the LAWS website.
