Lakefield Youth Unlimited hosting 22nd Annual Fundraising Dinner October 16

Lakefield Youth Unlimited (LYU) is hosting its 22nd Annual Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Lakefield Legion, 10 Nicholls Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a delicious chicken dinner served at 6:00 p.m.

Lakefield Youth Unlimited is a faith-based, community-supported organization dedicated to helping youth discover their potential, build resiliency, and experience the hope of God. This year, LYU has set a fundraising goal of $30,000 to support mentorship, school programs, and outreach initiatives that meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of young people and their families in the Lakefield community.

Guests can look forward to an evening of good food, community connection, and inspiring stories of transformation made possible through LYU’s work.

Lakefield Youth Unlimited reaches between 80-100 youth each week through its regular programs and connects with hundreds more in Lakefield’s local elementary and intermediate schools. With the support of 40 dedicated volunteers, a team of five year-round staff lead initiatives that bring hope and care to families in the community.

The organization runs an Easter and Christmas Gift Card campaign, which helps provide meals and gifts to nearly 30 families each year. In partnership with Adrienne and Vincent Abrahamse, LYU also hosts a weekly children’s choir for students in grades 1-8. This program engages up to 20 young singers, giving them opportunities to perform at community events and competitions while developing teamwork and listening skills.

For the past 22 years, Gym Night has been one of Lakefield Youth Unlimited’s cornerstone programs. Each week, around 60 students in grades 6–9 gather at Lakefield District Public School for a safe, welcoming environment that offers non-competitive sports, arts and crafts, team-building activities, and snacks.
