Approximately 180 motorcycles will pass through Lakefield on Friday morning as the 21st annual Canada 911 Ride honouring fallen first responders travels through the village.

The three-day, police-escorted motorcycle procession will begin at Classy Chassis Motorcycles in Selwyn Township before travelling through communities across southern Ontario. Organizers expect the ride to pass through Lakefield at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to gather along Queen Street and wave to the riders as they make their way through downtown Lakefield. The ride will also cross the James A. Gifford Causeway between Bridgenorth and Ennismore at approximately 11:00 a.m., providing another opportunity for residents to show their support.

Approximately 180 motorcycles are expected to take part in the ride. The sight and sound of the motorcycles starting together and departing Classy Chassis is expected to be a memorable start to the three-day event.

This year’s ride carries particular significance as participants honour seven first responders who died in the line of duty in 2026:

  • Constable Marc Pinizzotto, Toronto Police Service

  • Sergeant Brandon Malcolm, Ontario Provincial Police

  • Provincial Constable Tarun Bali, Ontario Provincial Police

  • Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, Service de police de la Ville de Montréal

  • Sergeant Anaïs Fortin-Cozzens, Sûreté du Québec

  • Paramedic Mike (Michael) MacKenzie, Island EMS, Prince Edward Island

  • Paramedic Jenna Croucher, Island EMS, Prince Edward Island

Their names and service will be remembered throughout the ride as participants travel through communities across Ontario.

For more than two decades, the Canada 911 Ride Foundation has brought together members of the emergency services and motorcycle communities to honour fallen first responders, support their families and ensure their service and sacrifice are never forgotten.

The Foundation also supports charitable initiatives, including placing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in memory of fallen first responders and providing educational support to their children.

The ride begins Friday morning at Classy Chassis Motorcycles, 1399 8th Line Smith. Residents are encouraged to bring their families and children out to watch the procession and show their support, either at Classy Chassis or along the route.

The three-day ride wraps up in Aurora, Ontario on Sunday, August 23.
