Lakefield Literary Festival presents: Maurice Switzer, Sons of Tecumseh

  • Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School 4391 County Road 29 Lakefield, Ontario (map)

The Lakefield Literary Festival is hosting a special spring event with distinguished author, journalist, and educator Maurice Switzer on Wednesday, April 9.

Taking place at the Bryan Jones Theatre at Lakefield College School, the event will highlight Switzer’s latest novel, Sons of Tecumseh, a compelling exploration of Indigenous political reality and the enduring challenge of unity.

Joining the conversation as moderator is Jackson Pind, a mixed Settler-Anishinaabe Historian and Assistant Professor at Trent University. Pind, the author of Students by Day: Colonialism and Resistance at the Curve Lake Indian Day School, brings a wealth of historical context to what promises to be a profound discussion on leadership, legacy, and resistance.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased through the Lakefield Literary Festival website or in person at Happenstance Books & Yarns, 44 Queen Street, Lakefield.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the event getting underway at 7:00 p.m.
