The Lakefield Literary Festival celebrates Canadian literature by honouring the rich literary heritage of the region and showcasing acclaimed authors, poets, and storytellers. Visitors can enjoy author readings, engaging discussions, and book signings in a welcoming atmosphere that inspires a love of reading and storytelling.
The 2025 festival is taking place July 18 & 19 at Lakefield College School, with the popular Children’s Tent returning to downtown Lakefield.
This year’s lineup promises a weekend full of inspiration, conversation, and community.

Friday, July 18
7:00 p.m. - Imagining History with Jennifer Robson & Helen Humphreys (Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School)
Saturday, July 19
10:00 a.m. - Children’s Tent with Lana Button & Nadia Hohn (Cenotaph Park, rain location: Lakefield United Church)
11:30 a.m. - Family Matters with Martha Baillie & Adelle Purdham (Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School)
3:30 p.m. - New Dimensions with Sheung-King & Canisia Lubrin (Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School)
5:00 p.m. - Meet the Author Reception (Lakefield College School)
7:00 p.m. - A Literary Evening with Jane Urquhart (Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School)
New this year - FREE shuttle service sponsored by Selwyn Township, running from Trent University to each Saturday event at Lakefield College School.
