Selwyn Township announces extension of The Link bus service until April 2027
The Township of Selwyn has announced an extension of The Link, ensuring continued public transit service for residents and visitors across the municipality.
The bus service will now operate through April 30, 2027, extending its current term by another year. The extension is intended to maintain reliable transportation options for people travelling throughout the region, including destinations in and around Lakefield and neighbouring communities.
Alongside the extension, the Township is introducing service improvements that will include revised routes and schedules. The updated changes are scheduled to take effect on April 26, 2026.
According to an update on the Township’s website and social media platforms, updated route maps and schedule details will be posted on the website in the coming weeks. Riders are encouraged to review the new information once it becomes available to help plan their trips and stay informed about route changes.
The Link is a rural public transit service operated by Township of Selwyn that connects the communities of Lakefield, Bridgenorth, Ennismore, and Curve Lake First Nation, with connections to the City of Peterborough through Peterborough Transit at Trent University.
The service was launched in 2021 as a provincially funded rural transportation pilot project designed to improve mobility and access to services, employment, and community activities for residents in Selwyn Township and surrounding areas.
