Lakefield Village Lions launch annual winter clothing drive
By Stacey Sullivan
The Lakefield Village Lions Club is asking the community to help keep families warm this season through their annual winter clothing drive in support of the Lakefield Community Food Bank.
Donations of gently used coats, mittens, hats, toques, boots, snow pants and scarves for men, women and children are being collected.
Items can be dropped off at the Marshland Centre, 65 Hague Blvd., Lakefield, on Thursday, October 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Friday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Those unable to attend the collection times are encouraged to call Jackie at 705-344-2917 or Sandra at 416-809-0855 to make alternate arrangements.
Donations will be distributed through the Lakefield Community Food Bank.
Organizers say the clothing drive is a great way for residents to declutter closets while making a meaningful impact for local families in need.
