County seeks public input on Lakefield transportation plan; public meeting October 28

By Stacey Sullivan

The County of Peterborough is conducting a Transportation Master Plan study to assess infrastructure needs in the Lakefield area, including the potential location and conceptual design of a second crossing of the Otonabee River, as recommended in the County’s 2022 Transportation Master Plan Update.

A Public Information Session will be held on Tuesday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Niels Pind Room at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre, 20 Concession Street.

The session will give residents a chance to learn about the study’s background, current conditions, and possible solutions, including initial options for a second river crossing. The study will also identify infrastructure needs, assess deficiencies, and recommend improvements to support community growth.

Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions and gather public feedback.

For more information or to join the study mailing list, contact Doug Saccoccia, General Manager of Engineering & Construction at the County of Peterborough, at dsaccoccia@ptbocounty.ca.
